Originally from Chicago, Rob Kaftan first discovered his passion for dance music while producing dance parties at local nightclubs and venues in the mid 90's. During that time, Rob learned what it takes to make a great party..."it's all about the music".  Inspired by legendary DJs like Junior Vasquez, Victor Calderone and Ralphi Rosario, Rob decided to take the plunge into the DJ world himself.

After relocating to San Francisco in 1999, Rob continued to pursue his passion for music.  Eventually, the self taught DJ landed his first residency at Metropolis @ Space 550 in 2001.  Soon after that, Rob was sought after all up and down the West Coast.  Rob earned numerous guest appearances at Fresh @ Ruby Skye, Mass, Bump and Club Universe in San Francisco, Sundance Weekend in Guerneville, The Timberline and Noise Lab in Seattle, Club Montage and Bacchus House in San Diego, Here Lounge and The Factory in Los Angeles and The Maze and Level 2 in Hawaii...just to name a few.  After establishing a name for himself, Rob landed additional residencies at the ultra chic Industry @ Mezzanine www.industrysf.com in San Francisco, the very popular Gus Presents "Adonis" party www.guspresents.com in San Francisco and Heaven Nightclub in Palm Springs.

Now based in Los Angeles, this proud Chicago native still hold residencies in San Francisco and continues guest appearances around the world.  He's showing no sign of slowing down any time soon. Whether the event is a pool party, tea dance, main event or late night after-hours, Rob knows what's expected of him and knows what the crowd wants.  His superb programming skills and seamless mixing abilities allow him to take his dance floor on a musical journey from first beat to last.
